About Proxy
A web proxy focuses on WWW (World Wide Web) traffic and its most common use is to server as web cache. Proxy programs provide a means to deny the access to particular URLs in blacklist, and providing content filtering. This is used in educational, corporate or liberal environments where filtering of content is desired. Some of web proxies reformat web pages for any specific audience or purpose. The AOL dialup users used to have their routed requests through and extensible proxy or reduced detail in the JPEF pictures.

This can sped up the performance but the problems can occur, when more resolution was needed for, especially when thinning program produced some incorrect results.

A proxy server is an application program or computer system that acts as go-between for the request from any client on network seeking for resource from other servers. Clients connect to proxy sever, and requesting for the services, such as connection, a file, web page or other resources that are available from different servers. A proxy server evaluates the client's request according to filtering rules.

It may filter traffic by the protocol or an IP address. If request is validated by filter, proxy provides resource by the connection to relevant server and request for the required service on behalf of client.

A proxy server can also be placed in local computer of any user at various points between user and destination servers or Internet.

At the front point, reverse proxy is used as front-end to cache in-demand and accelerate resources. In proxy server usage, all the data sent to service that is being used and must pas through the proxy server before sent to server. Therefore it is feasible risk that malicious proxy severs may record everything including passwords and unencrypted logins. By changing proxies it is possible to obfuscate activities from eyes of user's destination and more traces will also be left on intermediate hops to trace user's activities.
